With fall right around the corner, we welcome the subtle flavor of cooked apple and the warmth of toasted pecans wrapped in the sweet depth of cocoa. Cristal is truly an approachable, easy-drinking coffee that represents a combination of Mexico’s regions including Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. There’s nothing like a cup of coffee that reminds you that apple pie season is approaching!

Fruit forward and sweet, this anaerobic natural coffee from Uganda highlights complex mixed berry notes and crisp acidity with a lingering chocolate dessert finish. For us, this coffee hits a real sweet spot between origin characteristics and exciting processing attributes.

Sakura Bashi (サクラ橋—Cherry Blossom Bridge) is our little love note to Japan, Pittsburgh, and our friends the world over. Bursting with the delicious possibilities of delicate blooms, crisp mornings, and good conversation, this cup is an ode to coffee’s power to bring us together—even when we’re oceans apart.

We crafted this blend with Tekko as a way to celebrate its 2026 run. The convention takes its name from the Japanese term for steel- or ironworking—鉄工 (tekkō), a loving nod to the Steel City that it’s called home for over twenty years. And, in a small twist of fate, this is one piece of common ground between us—De Fer is a shortening of the French atelier de fer—literally “iron workshop”.

But the similarities don’t stop there. Part of our mission has always been to enrich our community with welcoming and inclusive spaces that encourage meaningful connection. In much the same way, Tekko strives to provide a safe space for anyone to find their tribe and celebrate shared interests. While a pop culture convention and a third-wave coffee outfit might not seem like an obvious pairing, we found a shared mission and love for our city that ultimately led us to Sakura Bashi.
