Ketiara – Sumatra

Ketiara is the women-led co-op responsible for this incredible Fair Trade, organic coffee. A refreshing alternative to fruit-forward coffees always in vogue from Africa and Central America–this Indonesian coffee is savory-yet-clean, solid in body and extremely complex–resulting in part from the wet-hulled processing method (Giling Basah).

MORE ABOUT THIS COFFEE

Ketiara not only produces outstanding coffee, they do it the right way. Ketiara is a women-led co-op on the Sumatran island of Indonesia. This coffee is grown in the shade, using organic practices and is certified Fair Trade. This coffee exhibits the best of what Indonesian coffee has to offer--a complex, savory earthiness accented by notes of tobacco and cedar--with big body but a clean finish--and balanced nicely by notes of chocolate and dark fruit.
