MORE ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Among coffee lovers, Kenya has reached legendary status, for a good reason. Since gaining independence in 1963, Kenya has developed a reputation for employing progressive farming, processing and distribution techniques resulting in very high-quality coffee. Also, many of Kenya's farmers are themselves highly educated in coffee production. This focus combined with ideal, high-altitude growing conditions allow for some of the most intensely juicy and complex coffees in the world. The Rain Forest Alliance-certified Kamwangi factory in Kairinyaga county is managed by the New Ngariama Farmers Coop--a group of nearly 1000 smallholders, each owning about 250 trees. This coffee is hand sorted and fully washed.
