This coffee is deep, rich and chocolaty as you’d expect from a naturally processed Brazilian—with vibrancy and a subtle liveliness that is not always found in Brazilian coffees. We taste a good bit of citric acidity, even ripe cherry, for a complex but still easy-drinking cup. An every-day all-star with enough body, sweetness, and depth to help warm you up as the weather cools down.

Fazenda Santa Ines was taken over in 1979 by the Pereira family, who started a shift from quantity to quality production. Situated in one of the most mountainous regions of Brazil, the land is ideally situation for high-altitude/high-quality coffee. The family hired experts to help them revamp their entire process, harvesting and processing techniques--as well as invest in modern technology. The investment paid off and in 2005 samples from Santa Ines won first place in the Cup of Excellence Brazil. The farm produces about 4000 bags of coffee annually--not a small amount. The fact that they're able to achieve such quality on a large scale helps keep cost down and allows to create a coffee of truly remarkable value.
