Finca Ecologica Agua Colorada is a small family run farm–but that didn’t stop them from growing this absolute gem and taking 6th place in the 2017 Cup of Excellence Peru. Peru has come to be known for coffee with extremely bright, rich and complex profiles–and this is as good as they get.

Finca Colorada has been around ten years, and is truly a family-run affair. Farmer Gilmer Cordova, along with help from his family including parents and several siblings use sustainable practices (including mixing fruit trees in with the coffee trees) to ensure their coffee will stay viable (and delicious) for generations to come. The coffee is a mix of red and yellow caturra, and is fully washed then fermented for between 20 and 22 hours. The coffee is then dried on patios for about 15 days before being trucked to the town of Piura for processing.
